2FA: Authenticator, QR code, 6-digit security code

At log in process, user will need to download an Authenticator App on their mobile phone or install Authenticator extension on the web browser they used to log in and use the authenticator to scan a unique QR code . Using an Authenticator App to scan QR code is recommended as some organisation has network security policy which might delete your installed Authenticator extension on your web browser.

After you install an Authenticator App on your mobile phone, please scan the QR code on the log in page: (The below QR code is intentionally blurred out for security reason in the demo image)

* Please keep your Authenticator App and the scanned QR code record in your Authenticator App, and DO NOT delete them, because of the below reasons:

1. User will be asked to enter a new 6-digit security code which is generated by your first-time scanned QR code on your Authenticator App when they log in Fleet Admin Portal in the future.

2. After you scanned the QR code on your user account, the QR code for 2FA function will not be shown again in your future log in.

What to do if users delete your Authenticator App or scanned QR code record, or are confused with 6-digit code?

1. If you delete your Authenticator App or the scanned QR code record, please contact App Support app.support@instavolt.co.uk to request 2FA reset on your user account. After your account 2FA reset, use will need to log in from the beginning again like you log in at the first place.

2. Some customers are confused with 6-digit code log in and don’t know where to find them but want to reset 2FA to log in again. Under this circumstance, after you request 2FA reset on your user account, please delete any old scanned QR codes and ensure you don’t mix up any old scanned QR code records with the new QR code in the most recent log in process.

Google Authenticator shows valid 6-digit code in blue colour, and shows expired and invalid 6-digit code in red colour. Please use blue valid 6-digit code if you are using Google Authenticator App.
